Enjoy the summer landscape of southern Minnesota. Stops will include the
University of Minnesota Southern Research and Outreach Center in Waseca, MN, to see the Long-Term Agricultural Research experimental plots, alternative alfalfa harvest schemes, and the processing facilities of the
Agricultural Utilization Research Institute for new uses of alfalfa and other field crops. Another stop will provide the opportunity to visit an innovative dairy operation. The day will conclude with a dinner highlighting regional foods and beverages.
The tour will begin with a box lunch as we embark on our bus ride from the hotel/conference venue. Following the tour stops, we will enjoy dinner.
An optional tour offered Friday morning (July 17) will focus on new perennial crops in the Forever Green field studies on the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus and the opportunity to visit on campus forage research projects.
