FSG 9601 is adapted to and intended for use in the east central and
north central United States. It has been tested in Indiana, Iowa,
Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Wisconsin. 2.
FSG 9601 is a diploid medium red clover. Its flower color is 22% light
pink, 45% medium pink, 30% dark pink, and 3% red. Approximately 77% of
the plants exhibit leaf markings, and 98% have hairs on the stem. FSG
9601 is highly resistant to northern and southern anthracnose and
powdery mildew. It reaches 50% bloom approximately 2 days later than
Arlington in the spring growth of the first year after the seeding year.

Seed increase is limited to one generation of breeder (Syn. 1), two
generations of foundation (Syn. 2 or 3), and three generations of
certified (Syn. 2, 3, or 4) classes. Breeder seed was produced in 1997
and is maintained in cold storage by FFR Cooperative. Length of stand
allowed is 2 years for each of the breeder, foundation, and certified
classes. Production of breeder and foundation seed classes is limited to
the northwest United States. 4.
Certified seed will first be offered for sale in 2002. 5.
